Hi to all, I just updated my system to windows 8 but I now realized that it installed the 32 bit version in a computer with a 64 bit CPU. I downloaded the installer form another computer that is 32bit so no problem for that. Now I downloaded a new installer from the 64bit computer and installed again windows keeping all files and settings but it's again 32bit. Should I use the ISO downloaded from the 64bit computer and install again formatting the disk? And how can I get rid of the previous version of windows from the boot maneger? Is there a way to clean the boot? Thanks!
Do you have 4 Gb of ram or more ? If NO - you should keep actual instalaltion. If YES you may have to reinstall from scratch - including formating actual install.
Yes no problem for the hardware. I use 64bit windows for years. I was just hoping to avoid another fresh installation.. Any advice for the boot manager cleaning? Thanks for confirming the bad fact that I have to format again
As mentioned before re-install fresh copy (64bits) which can be got from this site or many others..have tested myself using purchased Key..all works fine
