Hi, I have a Core i5 CPU 3 years old. IT has a VGA port only. Now I have got a 32 inch FullHD TV to use as monitor. How do I connect and get full resolution ?
Just remember you can not just use a VGA to HDMI cable/adapter. VGA is an analog video signal whereas HDMI is digital. You will need an analog-to-digital video converter. I've never had the need for one since I've been fortunate to have either a DVI or HDMI port on my systems. But, in your case try looking at these converters on Amazon or Google. Search for "VGA to HDMI Converter". I'd go with a converter that will allow an audio input with VGA to HDMI so that your computer's sound is transfer along to your HDTV via VGA-HDMI. Good luck!
i wonder if there is Displayport or DVI on what motherboard model? if none. buy a cheap vid cardamd or nvidia with HDMI.. usually around $40
Okay so basically get a new graphics card with HDMI support. Which one do you suggest for office usage ? Need something cheap, as the use is only monitoring.
for office usage i'll say anything cheap from nvidia (starting from GT210) or AMD (Starting from 5450) with HDMI Support and that supports your OS will make it.
