Hi! I have a DELL INSPIRON 6400.I have been provided with a MS Windows Xp Home edition SP2.I want to create XP proff version SP3.How do i do it?I want to make use of the files in the original home edition disk and dont want to download xp professional from somewhere and them make its OEM. Please help me,and provide a detailed tutorial.
XP Home and Pro are two different versions, you can't make XP Pro out of an XP Home edition disc. I know, that you prefer not to download, but it is the only way. On the forum somewhere, you can download a retail untouched copy of Xp Pro SP3.
@ offon7544, come on m8 a man with your experience should know it may install as pro but it will never be do a file comparison windows xp home doesn't have the same files a pro
+1, XP Home converted will never be XP Pro, your options would be to get a copy of XP pro OEM disc from Dell or make your own oem SLP disk.
@urie & @911medic I'm not saying it becomes a 100% xp pro, I would say that this answers the question, once installed, we have a XP pro on hand with all the features of XP Pro except for features that require files missing from the CD version of the Home. To have test it in company, that works without any problems (except the installation of a service pack). This is a XP pro for poor. Try this hack is amazing!
This don’t work very well, when I delete this key a follow msg show: ————————— Windows – License Violation ————————— The system has detected tampering with your registered product type. This is a violation of your software license. Tampering with product type is not permitted. ————————— OK
EVERYTHING is against the EULA....just not well enforced... M$ has effectively limited the XP license to install, and even that is suspect...
