    1) MSE/Windows Defender is the same crap

    2) I just uninstalled Windows defenders, its services, registry entries, and files on Windows 8.1 . go figure

    3) about Tito's source reminder! Holy crap! I forgot to add the source then I added it when he reminded me! bite me!

    4) if you have nothing logical or good to add to the thread, then simply don't enter it

    5) get a life or get a girlfriend

What happened to the free expression of ideas? I always thought that was the hallmark of a good forum. One definition of forum is, "A place, meeting, or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.". Hard to envision any sort of meaningful exchange when certain ideas are suppressed and ridiculed.

Who stole ian82's ice cream cone?

    Yes you are correct,
and as a moderator perhaps I should not have commented. And we do have
but also total continuous threads and posts on same subjects i,e, AV. I also must say for once this post was informative.

There was a time when I used MSE or as in Win8 Windows Defender then I realized it is crap when got infected by a crappy ransomware from just visiting a page. Anything is better than it just use a free version AV.

I see: You are an unteachable Defender hater.

For what is the white dotted line in the chart ???
Why do you have cut the bottom of the chart which shows the legend ?

The chart shows an actual comparison of several antivirus programs (November 2013) and the white dotted line shows Defender of Windows 7 - an 4 year old antivirus program.

Conclusion: When a 4 year old antivirus program (Defender of Windows 7) is in the "range" of actual antivirus programs (November 2013) - how good must be the actual Defender of Windows 8.1 ?
