hello everyone i wonder how can i extract .bin file from .FD insyde file? for example HP G62 when i extracted the SPxxxxx.exe i found the .FD file is not the same size as the BIOS chip size so please can anyone explain this to me?and how to get bios.rom and ex.rom from .fd file ? thanks geraz
make backup of chip with eprom programmer then compare tothe .fd in a hexeditor. merge the file then flash. u want to cut the platform data out of the .fd also some .fd are encrypted ( to find out use phoenix mod tool on the .fd then if it makes filename.fd.dec then it was encrypted)
thanks for quick reply the backup file i took by programmer dosn't match with any of .fd file yes the .fd seems encrypted ..by z way the eprom file i took by programmer is 4 MB but the .FD is 2.5MB is there is anyway to decrypt the .fd file? thanks so much
the 2mb is replaced within that 4mb file.. not whole 4mb needs update. phoenix bios mod tool 2.x should make a bios.fd.DEC if it is what is the SP####?
the hp model is G62-B56SG with AMD cpu the bios update file is SP55657.exe now i have a blank new bios chip ..the old one is burnt so that i need to get the rom file from the .fd file i do repair laptops ..all the time i have this problem which is i can't get the rom file Best regards

HI, unfortunately it didn't work but it gave me the same number on tester card so it might be i have another problem if u r sure of the ur file anyway thank u for help if u can i want to know how i do it myself for example G62-b31ee sp55477.exe how to extract bios.rom and ec.rom in case i don't have old backup thank u , best regards
