I'm trying to flash a bios which has reportedly been modified to run Cedar Mill P4's on an old Dell Dimension 4700. Here's what I get with different methods:

    D4700A10.EXE -readgzfile
    D4700A10.EXE /readgzfile
Invalid Command Line (in both DOS and Win)

    biosflsh.exe --force --flashbios new_bios.hdr
    biosflsh.exe -f bioz.gz
The format of the bios image file is not correct. (in DOS)

Can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or is the bios corrupt in some way?? This is the bios file: vvv.box.net/shared/qt0h6h8pn3ifdr81kfx9 (it wouldn't let me post links so change v to w)

Thanks, it worked!! The old Prescott P4 530 used 113 watts at idle, while the Cedar Mill P4 641 only uses 73 watts!

The only problem I had was trying to run DCC under Win 7, which kept giving me an "Invalid configuration file" error in IE8. So, I installed XP with IE6 and it worked fine.

Does that new bios for the 4700 include ALL Cedar Mill Pentium 4 661's? CPU ID's QF62, QF64, and QF65? I have the SL94V version (QF62). Please confirm before I flash and potentially brick my 4700. It is a standard 4700, not the 4700c. Thanks.

how do I know if it worked. it still says a07. I know my computer only supports that so is the modified bios just a modified ao7, and will show up as a07?
