Believe me, I have tried all of them. You may have to restart pc and disable firewall cause it will fail at logging in user, but after few times it will connect. Been there done that, lol
Plain and short: goto Windows\System32\drivers\etc, edit file hosts, add 127.0.0.1 rad.msn.com, save and restart skype, adds gone. :crystal: Works with latest version (atm) of skype desktop (6.14.0.104) on windows 8.1
nah, its not worth the money as per my usage. Update form my side, i have uninstalled it complete, including registry entries and installed version 5.5. ads were gone. After using the new UI, this seems little odd, but i can live with this. I am also planing to follow the advice @spkleader provided, and try updating to latest version , will see and update this thread Thanks all.
None of the methods, described here, does not work and has not never worked. But I have quite another question - why you should install a version which has the annexes and the ads and then want to begin to block them? After all, if there is version without no ads and no automatic updates. So why not install it?
