Did anyone succeed to install Windows 7 from USB 3.0? Because I have integrated the drivers in boot.wim and install.wim, but I always get the same error (missing driver). I also tried to load them from a folder or to install in UEFI mode ... no way! It's quite frustrating...
Can you post the missing driver message (picture)? Did you integrate the correct driver and into both boot.wim indexes? Does the mobo manufacturer provide an USB integration tool for the usb key? @sebus, if he gets the winpe to boot he also should be able to get to boot the windows iso.
BUT WHY BOTHER? dism /apply-image is much more preferred method than running the stupid setup (unless you must upgrade)
I use imagex /apply; I also made a batch I load from winpe so everything is automated. But sometimes you need the portable usb drive.
try use Windows 10 installer on your USB drive after it is created replace the install.wim in sources folder with windows 7 install.wim
Hey Enthousiast, it worked! Now, I don't know which one of the nineteen drivers that are in that package has solved the problem, because I have integrated them all... but the important thing is that it works.
Glad you finally managed to make it work. i had a thought about your problem , why didn't you just use usb 2.0 to install win7 ? If you didn't do it , that would logically because your machine does not have usb 2.0 ports. Is it the case ? otherwise, just to be clear, you managed to fix the issue by integrating usb 3.0 drivers using simplix pack tool by @simplex and @Enthousiast ? Is it correct ? if so, did you integrate the drivers into boot.wim file or install.wim file or into both files ?
