I have windows 7 installed, and I would like to also have the option of booting to windows 8.
How do I go about installing it?, and setting it up to allow me which os to boot to? Will it need to build another hidden partition?

    Thank you

Make a new partition on your hard drive and install it on to it. You will be able to dual boot just fine once Windows 8 is installed.

No "hidden" partitions required. If your current windows partition occupies your entire hard drive, downsize it first then create a new partition in the empty space. Windows setup will let you choose which partition to install to and by default it will install a bootloader to select which OS to boot to.

Afair it is recommended to disable "Hybrid Boot" in Win 8, when dual booting with previous Windows. Else there will be always performed a checkdisk run when starting prev. Windows.
