    After a day on this...
Parted Magic - cannot get it to boot via PXE, stops at Kernel Thread. I am trying to use it as part of my existing PXE menu. Also tried Parted Magic 5.10, 6.0 and latest 2012-03-14. USB works though.
CloneZilla - no matter how many times I tried, will not backup / restore the NFTS disk / partition (I'm sure it used to work...). I was using the CloneZilla on the Parted Magic disk.
Acronis TrueImage - in the end, i used this (with an old Maxtor drive plugged in to get the free version from Seagate to work).
NOTE Clonezilla will not clone large drive to smaller, Acronis seems to allow this, and it'll resize partitions to fill the drive.
So the CLONE part worked... until the install started... i386 folder not found (on cloned or original).
    DEVICEROOT\DEVICE\HARDDRIVE0\PARTITION0\I386
    not found
tried different partition numbers, did't work.

    Anyone had this working?

I currently use USB Multiboot 10 for installs, may try the WinPE method above.

I am sure USB works fine, I just never have one handy (as opposed to the network, which is always there)
