Canada has the right idea. There's a law there that says what you download is your business alone. Not so in the USA. I downloaded something with uTorrent and someone bitched to my isp that they didn't like what I chose to down. Anyone can participate in a torrent download and get your IP and then complain if they want to. Is there a way to hide my IP while I download what I want? I've used proxy servers before in a browser to hide my IP on certain web pages. Unless I was really lucky, the process was always sssssllllllllllloooooooooowwwwwwwwww. I was hoping there was a speedy way to hide an IP while downing a torrent. A friend at work said he set up a second router to generate a false IP. I don't see how that's possible. Wouldn't whatever IP your isp has assigned you always show when you download stuff? Any advice on how to keep downloads private is appreciated.
Just get a grip and actually pay for a premium account, Rapidshare or Rpnet just examples, what you don't seem to understand is when using torrent or even emule e.c.t you are actually file sharing when you are downloading other people are uploading from your computer and that is when you will get done. OK fair enough torrent is available for genuine file transfers but when it comes to warez movies e.c.t. take care.
