With all the RTM and other retail Vista Downloads here, why would you try??

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

    Code:
1: Create a new text file and copy paste the text below inside and save the file as PID.TXT

    [PID]
    Value='Enter Product Key Here'

do not enter the brackets i,e use Value=xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

This can be Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate OEM key.

    2: Now make Folders $OEM$\$$\SYSTEM32\OEM

3: Take your OEM XRM-MS file that matches your key and copy the file to OEM folder

    Hi urie,

Maybe this is a silly question !

Do you think that I can put DELL.XRM-MS, HP.XRM-MS and SONY.XRM-MS together in the same OEM folder and PID.txt with one Product Key..... in SOURCES

I mean that after I create a bootable DVD, I can install for Dell , HP or Sony with One Installation DVD later.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

Lets see if i get this right

    1. I need to write OEM:SLP key into the PID.txt ??
    2. Activation_Backup is used and i got exactly the same OEM:SPL key in a .txt file. and there is also a cert.xrm-ms file extracted into the same folder.
    3. I bought my VIAO with vista business and I can ONLY create an selfmade OEM Business without any problems by adding the $OEM$ and PID.txt into the iso?
    4. Is it possible to intergrate the Files into a Vista Business SP2?
    5. It is not possible to install a Vista Ultimate right? because my OEM number (89576-OEM-7332141-00148) is fixed for Business unless I download a modified BIOS?

    thanks for the help

@ testt0r, don't you have original sony vista oem dvd all you do is copy the $OEM$ and modified pid.txt file folder from that to your vista sp2 sources folder. And yes you can activate x64 and x86 with same files, as for wimmounter just unpack you iso to a folder of you choice and run win mounter and point it to where you extracted iso\sources and select install.wim.

@ use the sp2 ultimate dvd that has all versions in it for get wim mounter get your $OEM$ folder and pid.txt prepaired and use instructions from page 1 on this thread you can just use ultraiso open up the iso file and add the $OEM$ and pid.txt file to sources folder and burn thats it you dont even need to save it but thats up to you:D

We need more detailed information, why are you trying to open the install.wim are you trying to edit it ? if so you need wim mounter if you are just trying to make an OEM dvd from say MSDN vista dvd you dont need to touch the wim files.

    Hi again urie!

    1. My first self-made Vista Ultimate 64bit Sony-OEM worked perfectly! thank you for your help !:D

    2. It was just pain in the ass to search for the proper drivers and softwares for a 64bit system:( Defragmentation tool like O&O or RMClock for underclocking the CPU and some other programs won't work, but all in all I am pretty satisfied!!:D

    3. If I want to install an OEM disk on a desktop system, I will need to mod the BIOS of my mainboard right?
