I don't get it, is it really this simple? At the moment I run an Athlon X4 II 940, 4GB RAM and I want to install Vista Utimate on this pc with an Asrock motherboard.

If I understand everything correctly I just have to find an OEM-key with a corresponding XRM-MS? Does it matter which brand or something else I take? :x

You need to use activator or loader.

Right, I think I get it now. When you use SLIC you need to flash the BIOS in some way and it's kind of permanent, right?

Loaders (what is the difference with 'activ*tors' by the way?) are just like a suffix to and .exe if I understand you guys correctly. They boot with Windows and emulate an OEM.

What is the latest loader for Vista?

It's just that my pc is kind of brand new. :p

I'd rather use some soft modification like 7Loader for now. That has no impact on performance right, and works like I said in my previous post?

$OEM$ folder work the same but you don't use pid.txt file in windows 7 you use a file called AutoUnnatend.xml search windows 7 section you find examples i have posted.

I thought the OEM-cert has to match with the SLIC in my bios and NOT with the key i use in PID.TXT ???
So... if i have a BIOS with MSI SLIC, i have to use the MSI.XRM-MS cert and can use ANY Ultimate OEM Key (ASUS / Lenovo / Dell /...).
    Am i right here?

    Thanks in advance, fuchslich

Hows it going Forum. Before anythinf, I wanna let the Forum Administrators and Editors for this site. Its great. Ok , The question is,, I have a Windows Vista rtm dvd, no Service Pack. And wanted to know, Can I in the OEM Folder , put all Brand Certs and make it a Universal OEM DVD to install on any Windows Vista OEM Computer, And do the certs have to have a specific name in order to be picked up by the Vista OEM made Computer. That way I wont have to manually install the cert everytime for each Slic 2.0 Brand. And also, Does the PID.txt have to be edited. If so, What exactly do I do.

I really would like to know. Everytime I install a cert, It has to be under the first version of Vista. Service pack 1 and so on PROHIBITS me of doing this. So I was thinking of having an OEM Vista SP2 ready to go , that way everytime I wont have to install SP2 after inserting the cert. It takes alot of time. I already looked at the forums about making a OEM DVD, But none speak about making an all brand OEM disk.

    Thanks for the help.

    TX.
