HP COMPAQ SERVER ML370. Been told that the BIOS in these professional machines are in the hard disk not is chips eeprom like normal desktop and installed at the time when the OS is not there.HP support disk install this and the SCSI drivers first then the OS goes on top. From this I take it that "BIOS" mod in machines like these.................get the hammer or use a loader? Anyone has got a clue on this?
Ml370 Yes, that is something I was wondering. There are 6 hard drives and suspect one is OS and the rest a raid five. I did do research via google and some people are saying BIOS is on the hard disk..............totally new to me. I am not into professional servers with dual power supplies, etc, etc. I know EEPROM chips in motherboards but beyond that................................
compaq D530 bios I have the D530 bios which uses the rompaq..following instructios on this board I can see the RSDT information once its loaded in memory by using the hex editor memory feature..however, I don't know how to edit and save the file for trials... Anyone want help me with this challenge? Or If there is a way to force flash it to another models bios say ASUS P4SD bios or AOpen AXSG Max.. Or a any board with 512rom, Intel 865PE Northbridge chipset onboard video, broadcom giga and Intel ICH5 Southbridge chipset. This would help all those guys with the P4SD mainboard.. D330, D538 etc.. I have a couple spares so I am not afraid to brick it. Thanks in advance for the effort and any ideas.
