What program are you using to open BIOS .rom files to know if it has SLIC 2.1?

Because before I buy a computer, I want to check if the motherboards BIOS is already SLIC 2.1 by downloading the BIOS file online from the motherboard model.

Now I see since you change topic title.

    I like Hexworkshop and UltraEdit.

I'm sorry, I probably misread your post originally. I get a bit frustrated with my own endeavours and tend to take out my frustrations in the wrong places.

Hexedit works just fine and is a lot smarter than these other apps, but it has a very steep learning curve.

I just downloaded Hexedit and opened the .ROM file. However, by finding "53 20 00" it can't find it.
