    ASUS K43TA Bios Problem??

I just want to share my experience.
I was trying to modify this Asus NB bios v 212. It is Insyde/EFI, so using Phoenix Modify tool 1.95 to do it without RWEverything file.

All went well and after flash it Windows activated correctly, however, there was no USB 3.0 in system properties. This model is using AMD SB USB 3.0 controller. It was end up to RMA the MB.

This time it came with bios v 209. Again, I have done it with the same tool together with RWEverything file. All went well again, but after flashing, K43TA has turned to a brick. No recovery methods were working.

RMA again and again came new MB with same bios as last time, this time, the modification has done without RWEverything file. The same problem with USB 3.0 came back. So, I have decided to flash it with original bios. All went well but Windows would not be activated.

The last solution was using Windows Loader V212, successfully.

Any idea what was went wrong and how to correct it?

Thank you very much for any answers. :worthy:

Just out of curiosity, is it possible to undo/remove the "permanent" DMI method?

So, is there a consensus by now on the method used for P8Z68-V Pro Gen3? I haven't had the opportunity until now to mod my board, and it seems no-one here has had any luck using the permanent DMI method on this particular board. Tito, you say to use New Module method, others say Dynamic works too, but which is better/safer? Both of them are non-permanent though, right, so I have to mod each new BIOS version?

Also, with these other (non-DMI) methods, I can mod the BIOS straight from the download, right? I don't have to apply it and extract it with a backup tool? And I don't need a RW Everything report?

Just making sure I go about this the right way..

You can use the Dynamic method. Just download official bios, mod it without rw report, flash the original bios first, then the modded one.

    :)

How do you "clear the DMI data"? the bupdater.exe with the switches above does not, do you do something in the PhoenixTool to do this?
