anyone know how can I remove the arrow from shortcut icons in Windows 8.1?
google fxvisor and install
edit: some might not have installed .netframework 2.0. You will be prompted to install prior to use this tool
Winaero have a very handy and simple utility for this. I'd copy the link but IE11 doesn't want to let me.
I found fxvisor 1.3.0 but that hasn't been updated since 3 years im not sure it works with Windows 8.1

Removing the arrow has not changed since the XP era. It's all the same.
The method I mentioned above is bug free.
the tool fxvisor which I mentioned above never gave me any bug since many years > for me it is bug free and I only can recommend it.
Some guys came to me having fiddled in the registry by hand and failed. Most of the bugs sit between chair and keyboard
You can use Tuneup Utility it will help
yes there are some tuning tools out there which have such settings on board like windows 8 manger in addition to tuneup et cetera
.... but as alway please use these tools with care - they can harm your system !!!
