The thing in the red circle. If I click on it and select Cancel it's still there. Is there a way (except for getting an OS that's not Windows 10)?
When you look at the picture you added, it appears that your Windows is not set up correctly or is damaged. Besides, why are you bothered by this link there? This is a suggestion only and only a link to open a popup window. I would recommend checking the condition of Windows and repairing it if necessary. Your Windows is currently not OK.
That function wants you to reset the default browser to Edge, pin it to the taskbar and set Bing as default search engine, when you chopped/"tweaked" your install so Edge is not available, it will cause this to go wrong. On Enterprise there is no such banner, btw.
What makes you think my Windows 10 installation is damaged? Edge is installed but it's not my default browser, that's all.
Enterprise or Education - no banner Btw I don't have it on Pro either I only use ChrEdge in a portable way. I had both Edge's uninstalled (online) from 19042, then in-place upgrade to 19043, that only restored the old Edge. Actually did a dozen or so back & forth in-place upgrades from/to 19041/19042/19043. Updated fine to .870, then to .906 after joining insider. Firefox was/remained/is my main browser during it, even start menu web search still opens in Firefox despite receiving one notification about defaults being reset. So there's a way to cut ChrEdge's wings in 20H2/21H1 without being nagged or breaking updates. I just need to test more and update the powershell uninstall snippet.
Don't worry ps, can't get the browser stuff appear on pro (by official means), banner is present, no browser check.
I have a desktop with Windows 10 Pro 20H2 and a laptop with Windows 10 Pro 20H2 (same version). I'm not aware of any different settings, although I've installed the OS on the desktop myself, from scratch, and on the laptop it was preinstalled (OEM). The "Web Browsing (from my picture above)" is only displayed in the settings of the laptop. I've got nothing like that in the settings of the desktop. So, is there a way to remove it, maybe using Group policy or Registry editor?
This message is the result of some EDGE extension that changes the browser's home page. In my case it was the rewards extension that, curiously, altered the home page for Bing. I uninstalled it and the message disappeared.
