Lost MS Office 2021 Home License Keys. It doesn't show up in MS account "Subscriptions & Services" section when logged in to account through Chrome. It only shows "Install". I don't want to login to my account through Windows or Office. I just want my license keys to activate Office without logging in. Where do I get it?
Some 3rd party company performed the installation and they don't remember how they did it... At this I will have to buy a new key. I just hope I can use it without being forced to log into MS account via the OS or via Office. It should be possible and it should register to HWID, just like OS itself.
If you were not provided with documents and a key, then consider the installation illegal (according to Microsoft rules). The only exception is for OEM installations, but there are rules there too. The solution is to sue them for providing an unfair service and/or buy a key from trusted suppliers (from the Microsoft website, including their list of partners). Microsoft Office & 365 does not support permanent activation via a digital license, like Windows. Only specifying a key, including in an account, or corporate activation methods. There is no provision for reverse "extraction". You can activate illegally, but it will be your choice. One of the methods is mentioned earlier. For offline activation, you can deploy a KMS server on your second device (see the section on the forum) and it will report that the license is genuine (false). This is if there is no Internet or you do not trust other people's servers. Other methods include using unlicensed keys (key or account theft, student/corporate activation with multiple keys, OEM key without a licensed use case).
I have the retail box with legitimate Office 2021 key now. I can update Office 2021, but I can't get it to activate because it doesn't detect connection to the Internet. I temporarily opened up firewall to all services just to test if it is some firewall-related block. It isn't... It may be a policy-related block, but policy only forbids logging on to an account, not activating it. There is no problem activating Windows online, only Office...
