How to retrieve an Office key from an unbootable installation

    As the title says.

    How can I use an existing tool or anything to retrieve an Office 2013 key on a Windows installation which is unbootable.

    I never faced the need before.

    What OS is it? I would make an image to play with in a VM and see if you can get Windows to boot (repair)

    Win8 borked after Win10 upgrade. Don't want to try a repair I need to retrieve the key asap then re-install from scratch.

    Like he said... I would make an image to play with in a VM and see if you can get Windows to boot.

    I only implied repairing the install in a throw away virtual environment so you can get the key. Worth virtualising and trying to do a windows repair.

    I understand. But to be honest, this is a favor to a friend, a favor to ask in this forum for help and he's already aware of this thread, maybe he doesn't want go that route though.
