    Start (Windows Key)
    Right click anywhere outside tiles
    click All apps button
on the Apps screen click Calculator (under Windows Accessories) to open it
Right click Calculator for further actions: calc8.jpg

    Why is it hidden?

It is no more hidden than it was before - in Windows 7:

    Start
    All Programs
    Accessories
    Calculator

Not worth showing as each menu covers the previous one.

    and in XP:

    Start
    All Programs
    Accessories
    Calculator

    calcxp.jpg

All exactly 4 mouse clicks (one of them a right-click in Win8) to open Calculator.

I found it with two clicks. Windows key + Q=Apps page, Calc. is right there.

Simplest way is: Win+R and then type calc.
Win+R opens the conventional "Run" dialog and you can then enter many of the late great commands. In this case, simply typing "calc" and Enter will open the Windows calculator app

    Two options.

    1. Move mouse top right and get the charms menu. Search for calc, right click on calculator item that comes up on the right and select "Pin to Start". This will add the old calc program as a tile to Metro UI.
    2. Install a real app like Calculator app. It has better features, looks good and is more powerful - "goo.gl/QMJpo"
