I have downloaded a windows 7 build 7229 from wzor, its oem and it gives me no choice how to select install version .can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong. Thanks in advance.
you can't select the version in MS builds ... and RC keys provided by MS are only to activate the "ultimate" version ... Sure, it's possible to modify the iso to access the choice of versions but you will not able to find a working key for "premium" version by example...
To select any version to Install of Windows 7 you need to enter to the sources folder and delete the file ei.cfg when you delete write a new dvd white the modded sources folder and ready you can chose what version do you wan to install
The only keys available to the public are Ultimate keys. I'm sure there are professional and premium keys internally @ MSFT.
Other SKU keys are sure specific and used internally at Microsoft for testing... There is no official keys available for public only for ultimate ... Thus install "ultimate" it's the better version ... i have installed 7229 x86 on my HP pavilion laptop and is working like a charm , it runs better and faster than vista premium ...
Thanks a lot guys for the replies. I have installed the ultimate version , and about the other versions, do you think the plus patch will be able to activate it ?? Another doubt: My fish background isn't moving, do i need to download the dreamscene update from microsoft update to enable that or is there any workaround. thanks in advance.
Please note that the dreamscene is unofficial and 'hacked' into Win7. It has some issues (like transparency of icons/text etc.). Just a small warning.
if you can't activate the copy WTF is the purpose of those keys, they are probably just the default install keys. If you really want to use Home Premium or Professional or whatever, just edit the file to give you all the versions then rearm it. If you can't activate a key what is the point of even posting it. Hey here is a key that doesn't work and you have to use a hack to get it to work. That is stupid.
