There is no problem at all. you can update/upgrade it to build 10586 or even you can have a clean install with windows 10 1511 build 10586 skipping key and you will get 100 genuine activation. Activation process has no change. You can even go from windows 7 to windows 10 build 10586 directly with the same result as earlier.
thanks bodmas! yes, i did a clean install from 7 to 10 just a month ago so i wouldnt like to reintall everything now again. unless i get a software problem or notice anthing out of the ordinary i will not clean install again.
Hello, So folks are saying their experiences... Today I decided to finally upgrade my Lenovo laptop to Windows 10. I was running Windows 7 Ultimate OEM. I could validate Windows 7 online with Internet Explorer. Then I generated GenuineTicket.XML and copied it to my flash drive. But I did not copy GenuineTicket.xml into the menthened folder after finishing Windows 10 installation. Windows 10 is activated once I connected to the Internet! So I guess gatherosstate.exe communicate with M$ and send some information from the previous Windows, and then M$ stores that information in their servers? Any thought? Good luck!
Yes that is the way it should work if you upgraded from Win7. This thread is all about doing a clean install of Win10 without doing the upgrade process. Title of this thread: How to upgrade from W7/8.1 without going through the complete upgrade process
I have en_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x64_dvd_u_677332.iso [english, pendrive1] en_windows_10_pro_10240_x64_dvd.iso [english, hdd] Windows 10 1511 Build 10586 TH2 x86 [polish, pendrive2] My HDD on laptop is clear. Can I install Win7 x64, activate with loader by DAZ and then use this method? I finally want to have Win10 TH2 x86 installed and activated. Will gatherosstate.exe from TH2 x86 work on Windows 7 x64?
My laptop runs on win8.1 Pro Turkish. Does it work w/o problem if I download the English W10.iso and all the procedure in the firs post? By the way, I couldn't find W10 pro Turkish.iso link in the related W10 iso threads, is not it yet available by forum members?
I installed Win7 x64 Ultimate and then done the procedure by generating the GenuineTicket.xml file for both Win10 x64 build 10240 and Win10 TH2 build 10586 x86. Then used GenuineTicket.xml from Win10 TH2 gatherosstate.exe on clean install and the TH2 has been activated.
@Yen Thanks. its worked. i have multiple boot on notebook. 1hdd 4 primary partition, mbr. 1: winxp 2:win7 3.osx86 ML 4.Data i cant upgrade to win10 due "something happened" on upgrade process. I got genuine ticket via gatherostate, copied to esd usb win10 installer. install win10 clean to partition 2 mbr non uefi. disable internet, skip all check, copy genuine ticket file to clipsvc folder, restart. after restart, the genuine ticket file gone! so i copied again, then activated internet. and activate it. Great! works charm! I Use easybcd with boot0md to create boot 3 O/S pick Excellent
Wd you pls explain, if we install W10 with this easy method, what will happen to our installed application? It is stated that it is a fresh install according to first post of this thread. Is not it true that our installed applications in previous windows version are preserved when when upgrading but not with a fresh install? So far , I always used fresh install, no experience with upgrading. If so , it is worth to change the thread title a little or put note in the first post.
It depends how you define upgrade. At w10 it is defined by license, not by installation. 'Upgrade' means that one requires a previous license already from which one upgrades. This does not mean one has to keep the current installation physically on disk and to upgrade from there. Actually after upgrade the old license is void since it has been upgraded to a new one.
Hi, I installed windows 10 on my Desktop by by generating geniune ticket from Windows 7. Everything is fine. Now I bought a free dos laptop, I installed win 7. Used daz but it gave me error with the file system. Because it only supports uefi. So I installed 8.1 and and activated with kms pico. Generated a geniune ticket and installed windows 10, but it hasn't been activated. Can you direct me to a link that is only about 8.1 to win 10.
If you want to preserve the your previous version of Windows then you use the instructions posted by Yen in the first post. To do this you need to create a partition on your hard drive to install Win10. Now you will end up with a dual boot setup with Win10 and your previous version of Windows. This setup is for just that purpose so you don't have to do an upgrade. And YES if you do an upgrade your previous version of Windows is preserved but will actually not be there for you to use. You can get it back but only if you revert back in 30 days. After that it is gone!! Using Yen's instructions and creating a partition for Win10 and doing a clean install is the best way of going about it. (In my opinion) Upgrading can have it's difficulty and problems.
