Generating the GenuineTicket.xml is for skipping the real upgrade process and directly do a clean install of 10 which uses the generated xml to genuinly activate it, so it's not needed when you really upgrade to 10.
Once w10 has been activated no xml is needed anymore since your hardware ID will be the reference for further identifications on the M$ servers (new clean installations of w10). The xml vanishes from C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\ClipSVC\GenuineTicket\ after the 1st activation either way.
Anyway could be an interesting idea to test what happen using the ticket generated from a KMS activated W10 on w10 itself. If that, for whatever reason, will work...

Has this ever been confirmed either way? I know that enterprise doesn't have an upgrade path, but does a kms-activated w7 pro (or kms activated w81) genuineticket work for w10 activation? pretty sure it does, but can't tell people that until im sure thanks again p.s. OP should be updated (i.e. instructions discuss using 10240 iso)
Hi all, i have a question maybe already answered. I have original Windows 7 installation and I generated already my GenuineTicket. If i don't want upgrade now, but i want do it after the 29 July (end of free upgrade to W10), will my ticket be valid or not? Thank you
no.. 30 days from what i read. get spare hdd and take your win 7 hdd out. install 10 on spare hdd and then replace hdd back to 7.. now pc HWID is stored at ms server activated.
Hi guys, I had to fix my brother's pc (that had win7) and change some of the hardware, including HDD. After that, I followed all of Yen's steps from the OP: I installed Win 7 Home Premium - 64bits, activated it with Daz Loader v2.2.2, and did all other steps as needed (I only had problems with the first step, cause I couldn't download the Microsoft's verification software ...but that shouldn't be a problem I think, since Daz loader did activate win7 normally). When I finished all steps though, resetted the pc and connected it to the internet, it didn't activate. In the Activation details, said that the activation key was not good to be used.. (Error code: 0xC004C003). So, I'm here to ask for some help, if possible... should I start it all again? there's something I can do to fix it? Thanks in advance. PS: If I disconnect the pc, and reset it, the pc doesn't shows the error in the Activation window at the PC Configuration. It shows a text asking for activation, with the "Activate" button enabled. If I re-connect to the internet and press the button again though, the same error and state is shown again (the GenuineTicket is still in the GenuineTicket folder).
Afaik know that has to be done to use the genuineticket.xml. It's not needed when you do a real upgrade from daz activated 7 SP1 HomePremium to 10 Home.
Um.. so I should go back to 7, reactivate it with DAZ, do a real upgrade to 10 with internet ON (I'm using Win 10 64bit - Home v10240 btw), let it activate by itself, then do a clean install of win10?
Are u using gatherosstate.exe from the new iso windows 10 ? Last time I am using gatherosstate.exe from new installer windows 10 generate Genuine Ticket.xml can`t active windows 10 only error code. I am go back to windows 7 using loader to active the windows but this time I using gatherosstate.exe from windows 10 (10240) generated genuine Ticket.xml. after follow all the step my windows 10 permanent active.
I used the v10240 actually. But yup, I think I'll do your process to, and if it still doesn't work I'll try the process I described in my last post.. ..hope it works :B EDIT: It finally worked .. thanks peps
Thank you for this tip guys! I bought new components for DOOM and reinstalled everthing: - Installed Windows 7 incl. ALL DRIVERS - Activated my copy with DAZ' loader - Validated my copy online - Generated the Ticket XML-file - Wiped everything and installed Windows 10 without Product Key and online connection - Stopped the Clip-Service - Copied the Ticket to it's proper place - Started the Service - Went online and activated Nice!

Obviously you can't. If you have a genuine w7 serial just use it to install w10, if not just follow the instructions, or just install 7 and upgrade it.
