If we believe MS then there will be no Win11. And yes, you are wrong. Of course we can have a multi-boot setup with multiple genuine activated versions of Windows. I have also tested Win10 Home and Pro as dual boot and both were genuine activated with DEs, so now I can reinstall either version and it will be activated automatically. Clearly MS' servers are having multiple HWIDs for my system in this case (or maybe one entry saying this HWID is valid for both Home and Pro... I don't know how they store the data).
FYI - Many people have Windows 10 Home as well as Pro activated on same machine. I am talking about FUTURE with Different OS and not different VARIATIONS of same OS. (Since Only Windows 10 is using DE at the moment and you can have Win 8.1 or Win 7 along with it on the same machine but what when several OS will start using the same method?)
You can establish as much HWID's as you want, for Pro and Home and both N versions. After establishing the HWID's you can install every one of them and they will be HWID activated. There is only one windows who uses HWID's, I don't have a clue what you mean by that.
I don't understand your confusion. First of all Win10 is supposed to be continuously upgraded in place so future versions will still be Win10 (supposedly if we believe MS). Secondly, even if they release Win11. Now question comes will it be a free upgrade? If only retail then there is no problem since buyers will have unique keys. But what if it's a free upgrade from 10 and gets DE too? In that case your Win10 key will be consumed by the Win11 upgrade, just like Win10 upgrade consumed Win7/8/8.1 keys. So just as we cannot legally use both Win7 and also Win10 activated with same Win7's key, similarly we won't be able to use both Win10 and also Win11 activated with same Win10's key. So it's simple - in this case if you want to dual boot then you'll have to activate Win10 and Win11 using separate keys, in which case 2 DEs will be generated and 2 HWIDs for the system will be with MS. Now all this is speculation of course but seems to make sense to me, unless you can point out a flaw in my theory.
I was doing so temporarily on one system during testing, and as a result both have DEs. System has only Pro right now but if I ever reinstall Home it will be activated too. But I honestly doubt lots of people would have done the same as Engineer2k2 says.
..just to add:- I have two insider computers both using the same account name and password, well I stopped the insider on one machine but it didn't affect the other...so my account with MS must be logged for two separate machines.
All this info is been known for a whole year now, why all of a sudden is this all brought as new info?

OK ! I understand. But this is only our assumption and will have to wait to see what actually comes. Exactly what I meant is earlier since OS was not attached to any HWID - We could use the XP or Windows 7 even though we upgraded to Vista and Windows 7 to Win 8.1 etc. on the same machine installed in other partitions as standby for experimenting/emergency. But Now when I will be going for any upgrade from Windows 10 to a newer version in the coming years - my Windows 10 Activation will become invalid automatically as DE for Windows 10 will be removed by M$ from their database once it is upgraded and will be attached to newer version and I will not be able to go back or use my own legit version thereafter in any other partition. They are just collecting our finger prints as HWID to control us, track us and what not...
Ha, that's true but sometimes for a newcomer it's quite difficult to wade through threads with 100-200 pages, which is why people always ask the same questions repeatedly. Quicker to just ask and hope some expert will take pity and answer or point to the correct location for the info.
First of all we don't know what MS will do in future. Maybe they'll invalidate the previous version's DE, or maybe they won't so people can go back (if they invalidated then how could people roll back and stay activated?). But not being able to use the previous version on another partition or system is not really new. With older versions too if you purchased an upgrade, you were not legally allowed to also continue using the version you upgraded from on another partition or system. If you wanted to use the previous version then you had to wipe the newer one you upgraded to. Upgrades always consume licenses. That's the way I've always understood it, so I don't get your complaint.
I am not complaining - just putting facts about future with HWID. What I meant is - It will not be possible to switch back or forth after upgrade in future as we could do now.
That's why you are not an MDL Newbie but a Guru! Maybe, maybe not. Point is you can't make such definitive statements right now on the basis of current knowledge.
