Thanks for providing this install method! I forgot that my Windows Loader activated Win7 install was MBR when I followed the guide on page one of this thread. Everything went just fine, but I want to convert to GPT. Can anyone confirm that I'm NOT going to run into any activation issues by reinstalling Win10 to the GPT drive? Will it just activate on its own the second time around, as alluded to at the end of the guide, or should I use the saved .xml file and follow the guide one more time? Thanks in advance!
HWID activations are not GPT or MBR dependant. You can safely re-install windows on a GPT configured system.
Just tested this "shortcut" to get 10 activated by a Digital License without really upgrading: Code: Created a new VM, installed Win 10 Home, no digital license. Created a new VM, installed Win 7SP1 HomePremium x64, ran gatherosstate.exe, shut the vm down, started the same vm, booting a Win 10 AiO iso, selected Home (deleted the win 7 partitions, created new ones), kept windows offline during first logon, inserted the genuineticket.xml and rebooted the vm, connected lan and it was activated by a Digital License. It still works (test in vmware 12.5). EDIT: It also still works on real systems, just found out a system i have to cleanup for a friend is capable of running windows 10. So i've installed Win 7SP1 Ulti x86, activated by DAZ' Loader and ran gatherosstate.exe, installed 10 Pro x86 and the genuineticket activated the system with a valid HWID/DL. Next, changing 1GB ram into 2 new 1GB ram modules and exchange the hdd. EDIT2: I exchanged the hdd with one who didn't ever see win 10 before and installed 10 pro again and it still was activated by the Digital License i established before.
Hi, anyway to still do a full upgrade from win7 pro or ultimate to win10. i don't want to format and start from scratch. is it possible and which iso should I be using?
Can this method (upgrade after deadline with 'gatherosstate.exe') be used with the latest (1607) Iso? I have a laptop (T410 with Windows 7 Pro X64)) a client wants upgrading to Win 10 (they missed the deadline) and the latest 1607 iso seems to be the only one MS will offer.
yep, you can. I did the clean installation of (Edition Windows 10 Pro, Version 1607, OS Build 14393.0), I think it's current latest version and it worked well (forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/64667-Windows-10-Covering-all-ACTIVATION-Processes-and-Checking-B-U-ADDED?p=1285523&viewfull=1#post1285523) (forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/64667-Windows-10-Covering-all-ACTIVATION-Processes-and-Checking-B-U-ADDED?p=1286165&viewfull=1#post1286165)
I've been having trouble using this method on PCs with a non-pro MSDM table with the current builds. It still works fine with build 10240.
MSDM is not used at all if upgrading from W7, but honestly I did not try it on such (Windows 8 Home) PC
hello, yesterday I have done upgrade on computer with win7pro, x64 using 'gatherosstate.exe' (following instructions as described here on MDL) and win10-1607. iso all works 100% ok; when completed i have win10pro, x64 activated
Hello all, I did exactly what was mentioned.. but when activating , I am getting an error saying. Activation failed because this device doesn't have a valid digital entitlement or product key. Error code: 0x803F7001
Do you upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 Home? I try it many time but always error with 10 Home from Windows 7.
8 and 10 don't have ultimate editions. This method doesn't work for KMS activated 8.1 editions, only when they are really legitimate activated For 8.1 KMS activated editions a real upgrade is needed to get a HWID. 8.1 Core KMSpico/MTK activated > 10 Home gets a HWID (i am not 101% sure, will test) 8.1 Pro KMSpico/MTK activated > 10 Pro gets a HWID 8.1 ProWMC KMSpico/MTK activated > 10 Pro gets a HWID
Thanks a LOT ! Worked perfectly from 8.1 pro to 10 pro I really do not wanted to do the entire upgrade procedure, in fact, I was going to use ksmpico, even if I own a genuine licence !
