[Not working anymore] How to upgrade from W7/8.1 without going through the complete upgrade process

Using old win 7/8.x keys is not the subject of this thread.

 

Beg to differ on this since the thread subject is how to upgrade from 7/8.1. Naturally it is 10 in ms ecosystem. And since this thread is old, it started with relevant issues at that time. Now we know that one can go straight to 10 using 7/8.1 keys.

 

Windows 10 accepted the old 7/8.x keys from 1511 (for almost 2 years now) on, this thread is about using the genuineticket.xml to skip the full upgrade.

 

Fine accepted. Tried this after not doing for 2 years. Could not get genuine ticket on 8.1 with 10 iso. I purt gatherostate on desktop and run as admin. But no ticket
Should I disconnect lan and which iso for initial install (7/8.1) and gatherstate (RTM/1511 etc) to use.
Need a new ticket for new system/mobo for contingencies. This is because in 1703 I often get unable to contact servers and then troubleshoot.

currently i am running Windows 7 Ultimate sp1 (x64) activated with daz loader, i wish to upgrade to windows 10 pro, i recently downloaded an iso from techbench's tool in mdl-Win10_1703_N_English_x64 : is this the windows 10 pro iso? if not can you help me, Thank you.

They are extremely rare. I have seen only one PC that was refurbished and had Windows 7 Professional N installed.

 

Hard Disk damaged, but I have a backup copy of genuine ticket.

Any change to get activated again?

 

Hard disk change shouldn't affect anything. HWID mainly based on motherboard, so machine should be activated.

 

Unfortunately, no. This PC had COA sticker on chassis and only activated using it, from what I remember.

 

IMHO, use a genuine Win 7/8.x key if you have one. The genuineticket method is not really a big time saver.

 

I never had any activation key for either 7 or 8, it's not only about saving time, this method is for people who don't want to do a full upgrade, and it can be done by using MDL solutions free of cost

I doubt it, Microsoft is desperate to make people switch to Windows 10

 

Atm all upgrades from activated 7SP1 or 8.1 still establish free HWID's, by ISO or MCT/UA.

We'll see what happens on Jan. 1. 2018
