so if one upgrades from win10 1607 (activated with kms) to fall creators update will also get a genuine license?
need some help here.. if anyone knows, please answer.. i have an motherboard from one manufaturer and i intend to upgrade its bios to one from another manufaturer. so the motherboard id/serial will change. If I get the ticket before upgrading the bios, will this ticket work with the new bios and fresh install of windows 10? If not, is that any way to circunvent this and have the windows 10 activation by hardware id on this motherboard with different bios?
It probably won't be valid after the BIOS change (for whatever reason you want to do that and IF that succeeds), but you can easily establish a new hwid if needed, at least till dec. 30. 2017. Or link the current HWID to your MSA and use it to recover the HWID when/if needed after the bios change.
Hi. One noob question: do I have to have those specific ISOs on the OP or can I just download the latest from Microsoft? Thanks.
Just posting to say it still working fine as of today. Got GenuineTicket from Win7SP1pro and loader activation. Installed Window10 using latest download acquired from MediaCreationTool at Microsoft. Activated ok following OP instructions. Cheers
Come 2018 and this free upgrade method may end... but this begs my question of those who legitimately upgrade but for any reasons (devastating attack, faulty update) need to re-install clean... Still a bit paranoid with KMS, not because of scheduled activation or false positives by Defender or Avast (exclusions go) but probably anticheat apps in online games may rub it the wrong way if it runs in background during scheduled time. Sure the workaround is not setting schedule, instead you run KMS activation manually anytime during the 180 days (or even after that when that watermark is pasted to the lower right) to reset the count.
HWID's which are already established and confirmed should still work when re-installing after the free upgrade will (be expected to) stop jan. 1. 2018.
