i want to do a free upgrade to windows 10 to get digital license but not sure what is best and working method now. pls share your methods here and if possible pls tell step by step. thank you
thanks.. in last line of yen post it says "When doing another clean install in the future just install w10 again while being ONLINE. It activates again. Thanks to Blinky for testing it." is this while install being online is a limitations of using genuine ticket method or being online while install is mandatory for all type of methods of activation?
Forget about VMs. Today, I upgraded an old laptop which was on Windows 7 Home and I upgraded it to Windows 10 v1709. It automatically upgraded it to Windows 10 and activated with Hardware ID.
Afaik, MSDM and HWID activation need to contact MSFT, don't know if key also contacts, prolly it does, when older windows keys are inserted, the install also gets a HWID. KMS doesn't need to be online to activate.
after activating with genuine ticket method,,,,,,,what will happen if i do a clean install without connecting to internet? will i get genuine activation if i connect to internet later?
As long as you're not online it won't be activated. As soon as you connect again, it will get activated.
one more ques... in the events of hardware change in mobo or hdd or ram or graphic card,, is it possible to lose activation?? if yes then will a ms account help in recovering activation?? or what is the other method to recover activation.
Changing the mobo itself or even the disabling of the onboard lan will, most likely, undo the HWID activation, if it's linked to your MSA, you can reactivate by using the troubleshooter.
alternative method (win 8.1): Use "Windows 8.1 permanent activation" or manual installation based on "Windows 8.1 permanent activation" (source code for ProductId.reg and slmgr.vbs). Manual installation based on "Windows 8.1 permanent activation": 1. Win 8.1 + KMS activation 2. modify ProductId and DigitalProductId and DigitalProductId4 in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion (ProductId.reg) 3. modify c:\Windows\System32\slmgr.vbs (privileges slmgr.cmd and modified slmgr.vbs) 4. create GenuineTicket.xml 5. Win 10 (1709) + GenuineTicket.xml = digital license slmgr.cmd Code: takeown /F c:\Windows\System32\slmgr.vbs /A icacls c:\Windows\System32\slmgr.vbs /grant Administrators:F
Since microsoft now killed upgrade to 10 for users of assistive technologies. Does this mean this method no more works as well? Microsoft: Thank you for your interest in Windows 10. The free upgrade offer extension for Windows 7 and Windows 8 customers who use assistive technologies expired on December 31, 2017. As an alternative, Windows 10 software and devices are available for purchase from retail and online stores. In case you have other questions, we are providing some references to resources and frequently asked questions regarding assistive technologies and Windows 10 that might be of interest.
The assistive upgrade tool is the same as the upgrade assistant, and all upgrades or the gatherosstate route still work and will give a free HWID. Upgrades by ISO, USB, DVD, UA, or MCT, all still work.
Still working. Windows 7 Professional x64 (Daz activated) Generated GenuineTicket from 1709 Installed Windows 10 Pro 1709 Activated
Today a new computer of my friend who only had a local account on his old computer, activated with my microsoft account and troubleshooter telling about new hardware hehe then switched him back to his local account on the new computer and all is still activated linked to his computer with HWID ! how nice is that
And now your HWID link is used Did you try if it still activates your system on which you linked it to your MSA? We have seen people asking why their host got deactivated when they used the linked MSA to activate their guest os in a VM.
Offcourse I have checked it when I came home still HWID activated linked to my account so no worries here
