How to upgrade from W7/8.1 without going through the complete upgrade process

    I have a target editon installed - getting ready for a valid leaked key, and go to PCBETA every early morning (China Time Zone UTC +08:00).

    When a new leaked key shows up, I use it immediately to activate online or thru phone.

    Online: with valid counts
    Phone: with 0 count

    Do you know Chinese?

    You must be patient. Why I go there in early morning - about 06:00?

    PCBETA closes every 04:00 - 06:00. While the Chiness are SLEEPING!

    Doesn't work for Windows 10 keys. It was the first thing I tried.

    I know windows 7 isnt super wintogo/driver friendly but would it be possible to create a vhd with full windows 7 on it activated by windows loader BCD/VHD boot it on a usb drive let windows detect what ever device drivers it needs to for that paticular pc hardware (maybe integrate drivers packs?) then generate a ticket to use with win10 install?

    I do not know about WindowsToGo. But it seems free Windows 10 activation needs mostly the Edition ID : Xxx-xxxxx.

    Try install Window 7/8/8.1 without updates, and get the GenuineTicket.xml. Then bcdboot and restart to deploy Windows 10 WinToGo.

    I guess what I might have been thinking was, I have about 6 or so win10 (clean install/no upgrade) systems, some physical some vm, all of which are activated via kms, and non of which I want to redo again if I don't have to. was thinking maybe I could boot to a win7 vhd activated with windows loader get ticket then boot up to kms activated win10 clear current activation and put win7 ticket where it needs to be and have a perm activation for win10 (assuming ms hasn't banned my current hwid which I dont think they have or even will for that matter.) Basically trying to avoid having to reinstall win7 just to get ticket (which I though was the point pf the steps (assuming you havnt upgraded to win10 yet). :)

    Both WTG and .VHD installs have settings in the reg which identify them, and stop the 'free' upgrade from even starting.
    WTG being Enterprise only (in theory) won't work as the SKU would be listed in the GenuineTicket.xml.
    I've never managed to get a bootable .VHD to upgrade neither the Insider or RTM builds. But I've not tried just using one to get a GenuineTicket.xml. :confused:

    It doesn't seems to be, Windows 10 is a free OS.
    We have said this long time ago.
