I'm currently using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with Daz Loader but running the download Windows 10 application on Microsoft website brings up that it wasn't able to validate the license key. I find that Windows 7 legit OEM/retail licenses are no longer sold since long before so I'm stuck with Windows 7 unless I do a fresh OS install. Is there a way to upgrade without doing a fresh install of Windows 10?
Thanks! I'll try out these links and see how it goes. Though I've already tried the first link by microsoft offical page but it wasn't able to validate the license key on my pc
I've tried the links from LostED Windows10Upgrade9252.exe but it says its not a valid wind32 application and the MediaCreationTool22H2 says it can't validate the key.
Sorry, but you said that you already have activated Windows 7 Ultimate (no matter how it is activated), if so, what key are you still looking for. After the upgrade, you get Windows 10 Pro and it is also activated. If it doesn't work (cannot understand, why shouldn't), then activate the update using any other method. There is no need to enter any key to install or upgrade. And if you don't enter any key, you won't get any "can't validate the key" message. And if you really have Windows 7 activated on your pc, why not to use GenuineTicket method?
It doesn't prompt me to enter a key, it goes on around 42% and says "We couldn't verify the product key" and then stops installing. It seems that the Daz loader that activates windows 7 is detected as an invalid key. May I know GenuineTicket method?
He usually has no clue. This provides the needed ISO and should work: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...dows-10-without-legit-key.86001/#post-1761075
No matter what you do or how you do it - in any case you have to do a clean installation. Otherwise, you will start to wrestle with a huge number of errors and problems. So, start by moving your files to another place (it's best to make a separate partition if you have enough space), backup or whatever, and of course you have to reinstall all the programs. So start right away with a clean installation, you will save a lot of time and your nerves. The result is a completely clean and tidy Windows 10. Everything that you want to start reinventing from scratch, we have already been doing for almost 10 years. Do you still need to double-check all of this or is better trust us?
I've tried this and it still says the same "Setup has failed to validate the product key" Any ideas how I can fix this please?
What key does it checks if you don't enter any key anywhere? Or did you enter something somewhere and if entered, when, where and what did you entered? And why did you do so?
Seems it works now thanks guys. I had to do disk cleanup+system files cleanup and checked all the boxes and it installed. I'll do driver updates and check if all my programs are working fine. My windows 10 seems to be still activated with the Daz loader on Windows 7
No. Daz Loader is removed on upgrade, and it will never work with Windows 8 or higher (as the OEM:SLP method has been removed, except for Servers). However, Setup assigns a hardware-dependent, persistent digital license (aka HwID or Store license) upon upgrading. As long as you don't change the mainboard, the license will persist.
Digital license means the upgrade from the activated win 7 provided the win 10 install with a free HWID. HWID is tied to the hardware, when the motherboard or LAN is changed, the activation is gone, then you can use MAS (check my sig) to generate a new HWID.
