    Hi Everyone,

    Here is my question,

How can I upgrade my windows 10 home to windows 10 pro.

My machine came with windows 10 home(surface pro 6)

I remember that back in previous windows edition(maybe windows 7)
we could add a new key (depending on the brand of machine you had) and the key will "convert " to windows pro edition.

Thank you for all your help.

Now that the windows 10 is a pro version...

how do I go about activation?
is activation required for downloading updates?

KMS_VL_ALL for KMS activation or search for massgravel for hwid activation.
    Updates don't require activation.

Have you tried installing Windows 7 Pro on your Surface, using the official free upgrade to Windows 10, and no need for any crack?

Check my answer in your thread.

HWID activation is not a crack, it just uses a loophole by MSFT activation, resulting hwid will be the exact same.

Surface have windows 10 as a standard.... so going to windows 7 will be a downgrade and not really useful ....

because this will mean knowing that you are on windows (something) and by default 10, then going to windows 7 to go to windows 10 for me this sound like nonsense....

I suggested the downgrade to Windows 7 to take advantage of the official free upgrade to Windows 10. (I was not aware of the recent better methods)

You can install Pro version of Windows 7 and activate with Daz Loader.

Install Pro's default Retail key and activate with HWID activator is the most convenient.

It seems the key doesn't work anymore, even with Internet disconnected.

Yes, for those of you who have not searched "winactivate" and found via g!thub. Very easy to do. Succesfull.
I did not try Massgravel, so unknown.
Thank you pm67310, luzeadev, enthousiast and many others who offer their knowledge, time and help to novices like me. :)
