I need some expert to shed light on how they will prepare the upgrade disk, will they continue to use SLIC activation, or will they give each upgrader a CD-KEY
It depends on the bios if it has slic or not. For sample my laptop came with windows xp home edition. When vista came out in 2007 packard bell offered me a oem disk for a normal price, but my bios does not have slic 2.0 on it and didnt get a new bios update to add it. So in other words i should get a CD-Key to upgrade, if my laptop had SLIC in the bios they could send me a oem disc that activates automatic.
