when i load default, usb is still turned off under port options.. i even removed battery and hold power button like 1..2 minute.

is there any other way to do bios reset without removing bios battery?

    hi marva, and welcome.
    for what it is worth.i
found this on a german site.

    -----------------------------------------

    Remove charging cable and battery.
    Open service flap [4 screws]
Remove WLAN module by removing 2 screws, then carefully flip up,
    and pull out.

Note that any damage during this will render void any guarantee..

Boot. Reflash bios. Reboot. Switch off.
Put back WLAN module. Fix all the screws again.
File a complaint @hp support. [common problem.]
    ---------------------------------------------------

can`t check it here, no such machine around..
according to the original writer, it solved his problem.
and his machine was dead before, he said.

another funny thing is your bios version.
    f.20? for what os?

i would not risk using hp warez, before you find the problem..

    hope this helps..
    regards. nodnar

    hi marva,

we can shake hands on hp, this is from a hp machine too..
    i will never buy another...

from what i saw about this machine of yours hp says you cannot downgrade..

and your english is a-okay with me..[ no native speaker myself..]

and flashing bios under any windose is a no-no.. stick2dos..

okay, after the autopsy i can only humbly apologise for being unable to help..
part of the issue may be the new-fangled uefi thing..

i hope some uefi guru`s will have a look at this.
they are here, even as i`m typing, but they have not stirred..
while this is a well sold machine with many such issues..

hope you stick around till they do..

    regards, nodnar

    Hello,
First I'm sorry, I'm from Czech Republic and my English is not very good.
    My problem:
I have a laptop HP625 (SUSE Linux ...) when I turn on the notebook appears:

    Product information not valid.
The Following product information programmed into the system board is missing or invalid
    System board (OOA) -
    Product name
    Product Configuration ID
    Product Serial Number
    Product Sku

    Enter - continue ...

If boot from HardDisk (Windows 8) do not work usb, sound and wifi. Other function are ok.
The bios does not change anything if I change something and save, after system restart is always set back to default settings.
I can not boot from anything other than the HardDisc. When I press F9 nothing happens (no change boot device).
I updated the bios: 68DVA ver.F.21. That solution did not fix my problem. In another laptop I installed to the HardDisk FreeDos and put HardDisk back into the notebook and
    boot to FreeDos.And run NbDmifit.bat (11D)
    Display the information:
JemnEx ... Can not terminate a permanent instance FreeCom
System halted ... reboot or power off now, the information is replenished.

    Than I ran hpset152.exe:
    Press p to program mode
    Press 4 for HP625
I added the data... and hit enter:
SLP is disable system board programmed sucessfully!

Again, I ran a hpset152 and Press d to display mode:
The data failed to complete. They are only empty. :(

    uuid 0x0000 ...
    Product Serial Number =
    ...
    SLP is disable

I wanted to change to enable SLP.
    I ran hpbi103.exe read SLP:
    SLP value: Disabled
    I wrote then:
hpbi103.exe write SLP ON: Asset utility ... Done.
Again, I ran a hpset152 hpbi103.exe read SLP But the result is the same as before.
    SLP value: Disabled

I really do not know how to solve this problem have some idea what to do next?
