    hi folks, this:

    http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/31575-hp-625-laptop-product-information-not-valid

does not sit well with me..

took a good look at this; hp sold this thinghy by the thousands.
when you look at some german sites, stories abound on how they get bricked..

i suspect some uefi issue, but cannot check from here, no such machine around..
    and insufficient knowledge..
just wondered if there are any idea`s on this?

    thanks in advance..

after I flashed my BIOS chip with EEPROM burner (old HP machine) it lost all that data, but did not gave any errors, in my HP you can fill that data by hand in BIOS, and under computer there is a sticker with all that data written. more seems like some kind of BIOS user flash area damaged... as system board there said 00A it seems that it can't load custom data at all. can be NAND problem(as newer generation notebooks uses not EEPROM but NAND memory types.... and usually Samsung as they are the cheapest ones).

    UPDATE:
still, good old BIOS is the best! :)
