Latest BIOS I could find on the HP site for that model is from 2008, so it will definately not contain SLIC 2.1. They probably mean it can be upgraded to Windows 7 because all the drivers are available. I did a quick search and didn't find any BIOS Mods already posted so you may need to request one (or use a loader)
I'm at present thinking to use Daz loader but only after having a look at the forum posts once sp1 had been released. Have seen ODin here in the forum but did not follow the thread, shall spend some time reading about it. Thanks for your interest.
That's it , the bios driver there has slic 2.0 , that is why I'm wondering how they are activating win 7. I have followed the thread about this bios (68MVD Family Rom F.0F) but so far there has not been any luck. It seems to be a difficult one. Thanks.
Ah!! Did not know that. So slic 2.1 should be only used for volume and the key they send to upgrade is retail and not volume. Ok now is clear, thanks. There is a lot of information in the forums but takes time to assimilate...
No, SLIC is ONLY used with OEM SLP keys Volume keys are MAK (activation directly with M$) or KMS (activation with local KMS server) sebus
