Good evening, I have the above laptop and I would like to find the factory reset recovery cd as it came from the factory. Where could I order it from? I live in Cyprus and not America.
Yes we can To some degree anyway... First, dunno what preferences you have, so what I would focus on: either Windows XP sp3 or Windows 7 (with maxed out RAM), I would stay clear of Vista (of own experience, I had back in those days a maxed out 8510w with Vista factory installed and that experience sucked big...) To make an self activated XP image you must provide the slp information, then I can cobble together necessary files for you. (this part is not difficult) To add all drivers required for your model, branding etc - first you must provide them after testing which ones are needed. To add those in a working oem style image is something I can't do btw, more experienced members have to help you with this part. (this part is more time consuming) Or, you can choose to install from an umodified image and activate manually (this you would be forced to do anyway if you would install Windows 7, highly doubt you have slp 2.1 in bios, maybe 2.0...?) This will not be the same as you initial asked for btw so this is for you to decide.
Good evening, I would like you to prepare for me an iso image of windows XP Professional Or Home Edition Service Pack 2 Or Service Pack 3 OEM Version as well as the properties as well as the HP icon on my computer. I would like to keep going through Windows XP again.
This should work on making OEM installation media from Retail ISOs as Windows XP Home Edition did not exist in VL. Even if you take a Windows XP Professional VL ISO make it Home or simply take Windows XP Home Retail ISO and replace licensing files from Pro VL; Windows will refuse to login after installation. This is the list of files responsible for activation channel. Correct me if I'm wrong. @ccypruss000, as for you these steps should work well for Home Edition (and possibly Server 2003 too).
I have not investigated posters life before posting. If he is RetroGreekCollection i also have downloaded some good stuff from his collection. Want to thank him from here for his good collection.
