    I recently upgraded to window 7 ultimate from vista home premium activating using daz loader. Now mt icons always always flickers.
    And everytime i shutdown my laptop window logon services always show that its not terminated but when the aero are off or using only the basic theme errors doesnt shows up and it shutdown quickly.
    hp dv6000
    amd athlon x2
    nvidia geforce go 6150
    2gig ram

    Have you tried the vista chipset/graphics drivers from the HP website? This also helps with the overheating on this model!

    Download and install CPUID HWMonitor and leave it running as you use the laptop, it will monitor temperatures.

    Any HP dv6 or 9 series I came across with an AMD chip suffered from overheating issues.


    Ok secondly, have you installed all the drivers for the laptop?

    To check, go to the start menu, right click on Computer
    Select Manage
    Select Device Manager from the new window that appears.

    If there are ANY items showing up as "Unknown Device" or have a yellow marker beside it (exclamation mark) then you don't have all drivers installed.
