hp dv4 black screen

    no cpu or ram no post. try 1 ram at a time .
    if its i3 they are known for video (built in to cpu) issues

    actually is a AMD M520, i will try your suggestion.

    Take you battery out and remove the power supply > hold your power button down for 30-35 seconds > plug ONLY your power supply back in and try to power the Laptop.

    Hmm, true I've never liked them either, notorious for faults and issues. Especially with cooling.

    yep completely agree would not touch a HP DV---- with a barge pole,but would have to say their finest hour was the 69--p range. bought sold a few them over the years never had one back for hardware faults,and Win 7 flys on them;)

    True, I've dismantled a few of the DV6 series to see burns, dead GPUs and melted ribbon cables due to shorts because of bad engineering design. Aren't they supposed to be branded as 'entertainment' Laptops? Big load of B$.
