    Hello,

    The rundown:

    Laptop: HP DV6-6180us
BIOS: (won't let me post link - but file name is on hp website as sp55068.exe)
RSA signed? YES (I don't mind taking the semi-brick risk - I've already done so and removing CMOS battery then reflashing original BIOS fixes it fine.)
PCI ID of original WIFI card Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030:

    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_008B&SUBSYS_53158086&REV_34
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_008B&SUBSYS_53158086
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_008B&CC_028000
    PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_008B&CC_0280

New wireless card I would like to install: Intel Dual-band Wireless-AC 7260, Model: 7260 HMW

    For clarity:

I have already scoured the forums and the list of working bios mods and have tried the modded SP55068 bios (which for me did not work and semi-bricked the laptop).

Both before and after the modded bios I get this error:

    WIRELESS MODULE NOT SUPPORTED

The system has detected a Wireless module installed in the system is not supported. System halted. Please remove device and restart.

    WLAN Module ID (702)

    - also, the new wireless card also has Bluetooth 4.0 built into it.

THANKS A MILLION IF YOU GUYS CAN HELP!

Thanks anyway folks. Problem solved over at the bios-mods forum. I can't post a link because I don't have the privileges here. At any rate, it involves a modded BIOS as well as taping a certain pin on the WLAN chip so that the radio switch will stay "on" on my laptop. It would be super awesome if someone could figure that out...but as of now, I'm am rocking lightning fast speed with my new WLAN card. I guess PM me if you have a similar BIOS or the same laptop and I can tell you exactly what I did to get my new card to work. Peace and love y'all.

Sweet! Thanks for posting the links, LatinMcG. The specific one that worked for my setup is the file named: sp55068_NWL_vHARD_ByCamiloml

I have an HP Pavilion dv7-6b56nr with a Ralink RT5390 802.11b/g/n card. Tried replacing with an Intel 7260, computer wouldn't start. Tried a 724935-001 HP Broadcom 4352 802.11ac, computer wouldn't start. Have no choice, must remove whitelist. I'm 67yo, computer smarts 2 out of 10, but trying. CPUID says my bios is HP ver. F.17. Can anyone help? Looked at your impressive whitelists link. Don't know how to read list to see if you've already solved my problem. What do I look for?
