Hi all, Is it possible to recover the bios after a bad bios flash ? I installed sp51315 from HP and something went wrong,the lights goes on but only black screen. Can i recover the bios ? thanks in advance UPDATE:I read the forum to recover the bios,i extract sp51315 and put this on a usb stick,renamed the stick in HP_TOOLS,and did the WIN + B, but nothing happend only the light on the stick blink a fewtimes.i think i do something wrong?
I think the D1 file. Have no special folder i only renamee my usb stick,but readed that that only works when you have the tool folder on your hdd ? Can you tell me what files i must put onto my usb stick ? sorry for my questions , but this would be the first time to try to recover a bios. Thanks in advance
I did what you said,and follow the steps from the link. Now i get every 20 seconds, 8 beeps ?(what means bad bios)?
This is the bios what i have from the SP .30F3F2C.FD----30F3F2C0.FD------30F3F2C1.FD must i rename it to what you said ?30F4F2D1.fd
Sorry that is correct those files i have messed up with the numbers. so try al the 3 bios files and rename in 30F4F2D1.fd also 30F4F2D1.bin 30F4.bin and F4.bin in root of usb ? I give it a try now
30F4F2D1.FD renamed as you mentioned gives 8 beeps 30F4F2D0.FD Renamed as you mentioned gives 6 beeps 30F3F2D.FD renamed as you mentioned gives 5 beeps
ok so you are trying all files (bad). if you have nvidia only try D0 or D1.. not sure.. but the plain no number 30F3F2D.FD is not for the nvidia type. that one is for other model board as F3.bin.. yours is 30F3F2D1or0.FD rename to just F4.bin as soon as u boot go F10 and load defaults.. also did u try 1 memory stick at time ?? i think a mem stick might be dirty connection or bad.
after a while wil try the older ones. Memory already tested its for sure a bios issue. Be back in a few hours Thanks already for your time and info, be back after a while
Also no luck with the older bios files. Tried the scroll button trick,also a no go. Is there another option ? of just bad luck,and try to find another mainboard ?
Yesterday and today i tried again the new and older bios files one by on,also with renaming as you mentioned. Only thing what i get is some beeps and nothing happend. Is is an option to change the bioschip ? or is that to easy thinking ? Dont know what more options i can try.
reset cmos battery didnt help after each ? memory sticks 1 not 2 ? different usb ? make proper folders in it and put files in current and previous? why change.. get ch341a and sop8 clip to flash.. find the dump of bios and ec but first make copies of yours.
I found a company,who can replace the chip for not much money. Ofcourse will read the links what you gave me. Now for a few days out of town. Will let know what happens. Thanks again for all the help and info you gave me.
keep the old chip or have them take a dump of bios chip.. in case serial number and such goes missing. you can read the dump from it and use nbdmitool EDIT: i had just done recovery on one due to screen flashing (switching to external ports on its own) seems board is one of those amd piece of junks.
