I have bought a second hand laptop and I am trying to recover the bios as I don't have the admin password. I have created a recovery USB using the latest bios on the HP website. Holding windows key and B while switching on the machine with the USB key in I went through the recovery procedure what seems to be successfully - and the the laptop restarted. After going into BIOS after this process it is still asking for a password.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks

login windows password has nothing to do with bios hardware password.

the reason nobody helped him was he never posted model number of HP laptop... 1 post hit n run

Certainly not a one post hit and run - anyway I posted the model number in the thread title so not sure what you mean?

look into $VSS ghostlyhaks.. use ch341A instead of raspbery pi.
    hxd hex editor.
make 2 or 3 copies of bios chip and verify (compare in hxd) all 3 match.. then post the file and the actual full model under battery on laptop usually or just take a pic of it and edit serial out.

and congrats.. 2 thumbs up for 2 posts!
