Hello, i mod this and it works great for my ex490, it is now activated. Using the rom with afuwin 4.42 blind (no vga cable needed, just using remote desktop and flash it). Hope this will help.

Sorry, i did'nt made it clearly. This is for WHS 2011, but with the slic in the mod bios it could work any OSs need slic 2.1. Thank you.
Again, why run anything else on such poor hardware, but the original OS that comes with? Sticking WHS2011 removes you all the HP goodies that made them nice appliances sebus
Successful flashing from dos on ex495 , slic 2.1 in bios whs 2011 activated via Windows Loader v2.1.7 ( key and cert installed ) Validation passed , all update installed Thank You !!!
I assume this is a BIOS to allow the proper loading of WHS2011 on a EX490/495, once you load this can you still use the original WHS software that came from HP or does it create problems. I would like to load this considering I would like to go to WHS2011 in the future but I don't want to cause any problems with the original software. Thanks for all replys and suggestions!

Hi sebus, I never followed your advise and flashed it before making a backup (I presumed the flash program would do it for me). Any chance you have access to the original BIOS so I can revert mine? Regards, Darren
Well nothing went "wrong" but I wanted to change the SLIC 2.1 BIOS for a SLIC 2.2 and AMITools won't let me do that since it says SLIC 2.1 is already present and no option to override it with a SLIC 2.2 :-(
