Is it possible to replace the traditional Win 8 boot screen with the new HP boot screen.? If possible, how would this be accomplished. Is there a file you can copy say from a laptop that came with this HP boot screen to an HP laptop that has a traditional windows 8 boot screen?
new bootscreen is the "hp" logo while loading windows? if yes, it's from the UEFI BIOS. All others are the same, hp, samsung, acer, packard bell, etc
just some info. After installing Win8 pro on a win8 core machine, the hp logo stopped showing. However for a couple boots, the HP logo can be seen over/with the Windows 8 logo. So the OS injects the logo somehow I would guess.
you can replace the boot up with ereplogo.efi utility (not windows boot) - but i guess this will also replace the windows logo as it's get written into efi (no HP_TOOLS partition needed) maybe this tool is working also for other machines.
Insyde BIOS I have extracted this Toshiba 850D UEFI BIOS hxxp://no_short_urls_allowed/12BzJ94 with the tool from this thread hxxp://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/13358-How-to-Use-New-Phoenix-Bios-Mod-Tool-to-Modify-Phoenix-Dell-Insyde-EFI-Bios-Files I can find references to the OEM image and BGRT but no actual image. You seem to have a bit more insight and wondered if you would mind taking a look. Thanks.
