Back in the day, several years ago, I happened upon someone online that had a modified BIOS for my (old) DFI motherboard, and the difference was astounding. So many features and options had been "locked" by the manufacturer. Now I have this HP Pavillion d4990y, given to me as a gift (I would never have paid money for it) and I've managed to upgrade the memory to 8 Gbytes of DDR800, it's RUNNING at DDR800 , I'm upgraded it from the Vista 32-bit it shipped with to Win7 64-bit and it's RUNNING at 64-bit, and there's a part of me that should be happy I've got it to go this far away from what HP intended, but I still want more. More, I tell you. MORE. Please Sir, may I have some more? So what I'd like to know is if there's anything "more" that can be done. I hate the stupid HP OEM Bios. I'd be happy just to erase any trace of HP from the thing. Excerpt from Speccy: Version 5.09 Date 6/8/2007 hxxp://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00916901
