Great, but not usefull, as to mod the BIOS needs to be original, NOT backup

I was able to take that bios.bak file, rename it, load it into phoenix tools, mod it, successfully add the slic 2.1 , flash the modded bios, reboot, and verify that the modded bios was installed with slic dump tool.

if i am missing something please let me know. I have seen the distinction between original and backup, but i haven't been able to locate why. whats the purpose of the backup?

it looks like my backup was modded. anyway to tell if it wasn't complete?

    sebus,

I was able to successfully flash the modified bios.bak BIOS and the reboot the notebook. When I run the slic tool dump, it says slic 2.1.

I have been searching for more detailed information on why the back-up bios is suboptimal, but unsuccessful in locating more posts.
Mainly my question stems from the concept of if the backup is not good to use, what is the point of the backup?
