It normally comes with the needed bios updates, so I guess that means updated bios with slic 2.1, off course. Though they will be only for certain mobo's in Hp desktops & notebooks I suppose...
Sorry but this is wrong, HP will not post any slic 2.1 bios update on their site ,they're not that stupid
does anyone have the windows 7 upgrade assistant dvd yet to see if this does update the bios to slic 2.1? and can they up the bios update files?
So you would expect NO BIOS updates ever any more on HP site? They will send you a personal CD each time, right? What are you on? sebus
They'll have to provide it, cause they're NOT gonna send everyone a personal cd, come on, pall, be real... They will provide it. Maybe the older models kinda late, or even not, but most recent models will get a 2.1 bios from their site, or have allready gotten it. EDIT : psychadelics can mess with you
Ok I didn't know that I'm dealing with 2 year olds What I meant is if your pc didn't come with 2.1 HP will not post an upgrade to 2.1 they will still post upgraded bios just not upgraded slic When they say that it will be compatible with windows 7 that does not mean slic 2.1
As far as I know slic 2.1 is needed for compatability with win7. Slic 2.0 just won't get it activated.
I don't know if in HP's are so stupid, but the latest bios (F.11) of HP 6730s notebook has the slic v2.1 table inside. You had to activate the slic with "HPBI103 write SLP ON"
I guess you didn't bother to read my post. HP upgraded my BIOS to 2.1 with just a BIOS update from their Vista drivers page. I'm absolutely positive of this since I did a Slic dump before and after. I purchased my pc back in May and wasn't eligible for the Windows 7 upgrade. So yeah, they do upgrade your Slics
