Hello all, I own a HP Z800 and right after the guarantee has finished my MoBo broke down so I ordered a new one from ebay and everything is working quite fine except that at the startup I always get the message S/N, UUID, PCID does not match. In the BIOS I can see that the S/N is now "123456" so I guess it ned to be changed to solve this issue. HP told me I have to go to see a technician or send it to HP directly which is not an option at all. Next HP store is about 200km away and/or sending a 29kg worstation by post is just hilarious!!! I used the search function and found a couple of answers which leads all to a so called DMI tool...unfortunately ALL of them are for Notebooks or PC´s and I get the message BIOS not supported or only for Notebooks etc. Question: Does anyone have an idea how to solve this issue? I need a DMI tool for a Z800 workstation to tattoo it by my own. Thanks and have a great time. Bye
Hello LatinMcG, thanks for your quick respone. Unfortunately the file is not running under 64 bit systems...even if I run it in compatibility mode If I´m running it with USB flash drive it starts but asking me for a floppy drive and I can not change the drive name. Any other ideas? Thanks. Bye
use freedos balder.img .. go to c: then copy the files to a: thats emulated... c:\ there u type copy *.* a:\ run from A:\ or get usb floppy
Great, I´ll try it with this tool as soon as I´m back home from work Somehow I was not able to mount the mentioned balder.img with daemon tools => any hints how to emulate the floppy drive? Oh, by the way...I also tried it with Ctrl+A while in BIOS but nothing happened. Should there be a popup window or do I just get more options which I didn´t see at this moment? Thanks.
Hi guys, me again... 1. adding a new serial while in BIOS by using Ctrl+A isn´t working properly. Actually nothing happens. I do have BIOS v3.54 ?!?! 2. SETSYS can read all numbers which are set into the EPROM but if I try to write a new serial with (setsys \s=xxxxxxxxx) it is just showing me the possible commands and nothing happens. 3. somehow I´m to stupid to mount or burn balder10.img to emulate a floppy drive Any further ideas? Thanks a lot for your support. Bye
