hey guys i'm looking to take my hp zbook 15 bios back to factory i have full access to the bios and windows currently on 1.08 and the newest is 1.32 i believe what is the best way to reflash the bios to a clean oem version? is flashing via hardware the way to go? i have access to a buspirate and flashrom along with the oem bios file from hp but i dont really know how to use it if needed the chip is a winbond winbond 25q128fvsg or can i reflash it another way?
make backup.bin from original if needed in future. but not needed. you can make usb recovery stick with the .exe to flash bios (from any pc) recovery method: plug in USB with No power cord. hold Winkey and B as you plug in power and power on. then after 4 seconds or so u can let go of win b. if this dont work then we will need to use programer and backup to merge the dloaded bios with HexEditor to the backup.bin and make new.bin to flash back. but since its working ok do recovery method or F2 firmware management then flash bios there. ( windows can fail sometimes more often)
