hpSR1830NX desktop

    I recently try to help a friend to erase his hard drive and he has a HP desktop model
    SR1830NX he said that he had the original xp home cd, but when i incerted the cd it was blank, I tried xp pro,and vista and nothing but I gess it has to be the original hpcd with
    xp home, does any one have an image or point me to the right direction?
    the guy does not want to modify his bios. thanks.

    Your friend's desktop probably came with xp home preinstalled so likely has an HP slp. Hunt for OEMBIOS tool and run it. It'll tell you what slp you have.
    Then you can read this sticky to make a oem slp cd of the slp of your choice.

    That will install and automatically activate for you.

    You can also hunt for HP (or whatever slp you have) XP home oem cd on the torrent sites. But the risk is entirely yours...

    every branded PC have a preloaded OS & utility applocation sequence preserve as a ghost, & most of the ghost will run by press "F11" on booting (POST section) screen. if any format process was run by using external CD/DVD/FlashDrive/BD, the ghost will deleted.
